This coffee is produced by a group of smallholders situated outside the town of El Peñol in eastern Antioquia. Over 80% of this region is mountainous, and is well renowned for exceptional coffee that can be harvested all year round due to the warm climate and reliable rainfall.

The farmers here have only just begun producing coffee for the speciality market, and as processing continues to improve in the region, so does the final quality in the cup. This coffee is carefully roasted to produce a balanced and sweet cup. It’s accessible for both brewed by hand methods and larger scale machine brewing. So whether it’s for a single cup of cafetiere coffee or a batch of filter for the whole office – El Peñol provides reliable and delicious flavours of juicy red apple, caramalised nuts, and oaty granola.
